Big Lazer Creek and the Highway 36 crossing - upper river put-in for float trips through the gorge.
Montezuma Bluffs and Highway 26 - mid-river access on the transition to the coastal plain.
Radium Springs near Albany - limestone blue-hole spring feeding the river, a landmark reach.

Spring: shoal bass spawn on the ledges and flows are usually right for floating the gorge.
Summer: low and clear, the best wading and sight-fishing on the shoals, though the heat is heavy.
Fall: cooling water brings the strongest shoal bass fishing of the year with light pressure.
Winter: striped bass move up and hold near the springs while shoal bass go deep and slow.
