Spring: high, dirty runoff in the canyon and lower river, with the spring-fed valley water clearing first.
Summer: the main season, with salmonfly and drake hatches and consistent dry-fly cutthroat fishing in the valley.
Fall: excellent streamer and hopper fishing, cooler water and far less pressure after Labor Day.
Winter: limited access and low flows, with whitefish and midge fishing for anglers
