Town of Owasco - hard-surface ramp
Access / boat ramp42.90505, -76.53959The lake's main trailer launch, at the north end beside Emerson Park in Auburn. DEC's Cayuga County launch list records a hard-surface launch with parking for 25 cars. OSM maps the ramp twice; the two nodes are one facility.

Finger Lakes Land Trust

5Owasco Lake Water Access
South end, head of the lake
Access / boat ramp42.75347, -76.46915Shore access at the south-east corner where the Owasco Inlet enters the lake. Mapped in OSM under this name; it is NOT on DEC's Cayuga County boat-launch list, so treat it as shore or hand access rather than a trailer ramp.
6Boat ramp, north-west shore
Unnamed in OSM
Access / boat ramp42.90264, -76.54414A ramp on the waterline about 0.5 km west of the Emerson Park launch, mapped in OSM with no name and no operator and absent from DEC's launch list. Worth a look on foot before you tow a trailer to it.

Seasons

Spring: rainbow trout run the inlet and the lake trout fishing is at its shallowest and easiest.
Summer: firm stratification pushes lake trout deep, with smallmouth taking over the shoreline breaks.
Fall: cooling water brings trout back up and smallmouth feed hard before the season closes out.
Winter: limited and variable ice, with the north end bays the usual area when conditions allow.
