Who does not need one
No fishing licence is required for: Indiana residents under 18; Indiana residents born before April 1, 1943; resident owners or lessees of farmland and their families while fishing on that land; Indiana residents who are legally blind; and Indiana residents with developmental disabilities. Annual licences and stamp privileges are valid April 1 through March 31 of the following year.

Fees as published by Indiana DNR Fish & Wildlife and read on 4 September 2026. Agencies change fees without notice and vendors add issuing charges, so confirm the current price at the point of sale. We do not reproduce seasons, limits or gear rules — see the agency's regulations page for those.
Notes on this listing
All fees verified this session on the official in.gov DNR licence-fee page and corroborated on the eRegulations Indiana fishing digest (Indiana DNR's official digest publisher), which supplied the apprentice and Disabled American Veterans lines. Indiana's licence-exempt age is under 18 for residents, so age bands are written as 18+ for adult licences; DNR does not publish a separate youth fishing licence. Indiana does not levy a separate Lake Michigan stamp - the single trout/salmon stamp privilege covers Lake Michigan and inland waters. No social media links were published on the DNR Fish & Wildlife pages loaded, so those fields are empty. Free fishing day dates come from in.gov/dnr/fishfree.

The fee table below was read from official sources on 4 September 2026. We list what each item is called, who needs it and what it costs, and link out for the rules themselves — seasons, limits and gear regulations live on the agency’s own page and change too often to mirror.
