About GuidedFloats

GuidedFloats is a marketplace and community for freshwater anglers, organized around the water instead of the port. Every river, stream, and lake we cover gets a page with live flow and water temperature from USGS, a flow percentile against the long-term median for today, species, seasons, access, and the guides who fish it.

What we are building

  • Waters with live conditions. A USGS gauge on every page we can attach one to, refreshed every 15 minutes, with a percentile so the number means something.
  • Guides by the water they fish. Claimed profiles take booking requests. Unclaimed profiles are built from public records so a river is never empty, and any guide can claim or remove one.
  • Badges. Log a trip with photos and the water goes on your map. Log a cleanup and earn River Keeper. State tiers at 5, 10, and 25 waters.
  • The program directory. Every state master angler award, slam, trophy citation, and paddling trail we could find, with requirements and official links.
  • The journal. Reading water, packing right, and going guided, written by people who float.

Our mission

We are a for-profit company, and we are on a mission to leave our rivers, streams, and lakes cleaner for our children. That shows up in the product: cleanups earn badges, guides who do the work get promoted, and the community feed on every water shows who is taking care of it.

How we make money

A flat, published 15% commission on guide bookings that come through GuidedFloats. Nothing else at launch. We do not sell rankings to guides and we do not restate fishing regulations; we link to the agency that writes them.
