Watauga River Guides

Watauga River Guides is a one guide business run by J.J. Howard out of Elizabethton, in the northeast corner of Tennessee where two dam controlled rivers sit within a short drive of each other. There is no retail store behind it. The operation is the guide, his boat and the tackle he brings along, and reservations are handled directly by phone or by email. Because the two nearby tailwaters are close together, a party can move between them depending on which one is fishing better that day. Introductory instruction is sold at the same rate as a regular outing, which makes the service a practical starting point for people new to fly casting as well as for anglers who already know what they are doing.
