Two Forks Guide Service
Indianapolis, Indiana · Fishes White River (Indiana)
Two Forks Guide Service floats the West Fork of the White River through central Indiana, water the shop describes as a place of gorgeous solitude and the best kept secret in the region. Owner Jason DeArman has fished the West Fork for fifteen years and rows a Hyde drift boat. The rest of the team includes Kyle Schmedake, who has guided professionally for a decade including seasons on Alaskan rivers, Kevin Mitchell, instructional director Derrick Filkins, who came from managing a Indianapolis fly shop, and car spotter Brad Childes of Anderson, a founding member of the White River Watchers. Trips are sold as full days with a minimum of eight hours on the water and can run longer if the fishing warrants, priced at $450 for one or two anglers with lunch included and a $100 deposit at booking. Smallmouth bass are the theme. Bald eagles, great blue herons and kingfishers come with the float, and the outfit keeps a riverside house called the River Chateau that sleeps six.
