Beavers Bend Fly Fishing Guide Service

This is a guide service first, owned and operated by Chris Schatte, who found the river in 2002 and moved to the area permanently in 2015. The roster has grown to eight: Schatte plus Zach Dorman, Levi Ramsey, Tim Gleason, Hunter Hargis, Cole Touchstone, Kelsey Cowan and Bridget Norris. Their backgrounds are spread across Colorado, New Mexico, Arkansas, Pennsylvania and Texas, and several took up the sport as adults before turning to guiding. Hunter Hargis runs a custom rod building company alongside his guide work. The company also operates Broken Bow Fly Shop for gear and equipment sales. Teaching is built into how outings are framed, with emphasis on reading water rather than simply putting anglers on fish.
