Border Country Outdoor Adventures is a guide service working out of International Falls, Minnesota, on the Rainy River and the connected water of Rainy Lake. The company’s site describes the Rainy River as holding one of North America’s greatest smallmouth bass populations, and guided days on the river and lake also produce walleye, northern pike, muskellunge and largemouth bass. A dedicated spring package covering March 20 through May 10 is priced at $450 all inclusive for one to three anglers, with no lodging attached. Open water guide days are booked in four, six and eight hour blocks at $400, $550 and $600 for two anglers, with a set charge for each additional person and bait and fuel added to the posted rate. Fishing equipment is supplied for anglers who need it, children sixteen and under are not charged, and a deposit holds the date. The same operation runs ice fishing, ice house rentals and grouse hunts from a base at 3224 County Road 93.
