Bear Creek Anglers has been operating since 2010 out of the Trout Shack on Bear Creek Road, north of Decorah. Travel Iowa counts five guides on the roster and frames that as an advantage when booking; the company’s own bios page introduces six, among them Kent Kleckner, Monte Bowden, Mike Rogers, Chad Dolphin and Tom Rhoads, several of whom moved into the region only in recent years. The shop also books fly tying sessions and will put together a custom itinerary on request. Payment is taken in cash, by check or through Venmo.
