Salmon charters here fish the Columbia River at Buoy 10 out of Astoria, sold either as a four-hour guided tour at $250 per person or as a full eight-hour day at $300 per person. A private boat can be taken for $1,500 over four hours or $1,800 over eight, carrying up to six anglers. The target fish are given with honest size ranges rather than trophy claims: coho, or silver, salmon running four to twenty pounds, and Chinook running eight to forty pounds with the occasional scale tipper touching fifty. Every booking includes a licensed and qualified captain, all bait and all fishing gear, storage for the catch aboard, and cleaning on return to the dock. Guests may keep up to three fish.
