Guided fishing runs daily on the Peace River, working the water from the upper river downstream through the Charlotte Harbor estuary and out to the passes at Boca Grande. Captain Michael Dixon, born and raised on this river and fishing it since he was old enough to be aboard a boat, handles the angling side. Tarpon, snook and largemouth bass are the named targets, with snook called abundant in the river itself. Departures are from the operator’s own landing in Arcadia, in DeSoto County, and trips are fished from shallow-running airboats, an 18 ft aluminium hull and an 18.5 ft boat, both LS-powered, which lets the crew work skinny upper-river water as well as the open estuary. Every charter is fully licensed and insured. Trip durations and rates are not posted; they are quoted when booking by phone or through the online reservation system.
