The Missoulian Angler is a full service retail fly shop and outfitted guide service at 802 S Higgins Avenue on Missoula’s Hip Strip, established in 1987 and described on its own site as the oldest fly shop in town. Taylor Scott owns it and holds the outfitter licence, and seven guides are listed by name on the shop’s guide page. It deliberately stays small, maxing out at six boats a day rather than keeping a long bench of names. Beyond guiding it sells rods, reels, waders, flies and tackle, publishes regional fishing reports and a Montana hatch chart, arranges lodging packages, and guides the Bitterroot, Blackfoot, Clark Fork and Missouri as well as Rock Creek.
