Hawthorne’s summer trips are walleye and smallmouth bass days on Mille Lacs Lake, one of the country’s best known waters for both. Brad fishes the client’s preference rather than a fixed programme and supplies every piece of gear the group needs for the day. Rates are 500 dollars for a half day, 600 for a three-quarter day and 750 for a full day, each for one or two anglers. Two boats are kept, a 2025 Lund 2075 Impact and a 2023 Lund 1875 Pro tiller, and between them they carry up to seven anglers, so a larger party can fish together rather than splitting across services. Guests bring lunch, snacks and drinks, sunscreen, sunglasses and clothing for the weather. Because Mille Lacs is a genuine trophy fishery for both target species, a big fish is a live possibility on any day of the summer season.
