Hughes River Expeditions, Inc. is a family-owned Idaho wilderness rafting outfitter that has been operating since 1976 and works from an office at 6400 Caras Lane in Lolo, Montana. Alongside the Selway it runs the Middle Fork of the Salmon, the Main Salmon River of No Return and the Salmon River Canyons, plus specialty and family rafting departures, publishing a full season schedule and rate card for each. The company operates under special use permits from the Bureau of Land Management and the United States Forest Service, and it is one of only four outfitters the Bitterroot National Forest permits on that river, where use is limited to a single launch a day and group size is capped at sixteen people including staff.
