Kinni Creek Lodge and Outfitters
River Falls, Wisconsin · Fishes Kinnickinnic River
Kinni Creek Lodge and Outfitters guides fly-fishing days on the Kinnickinnic River, which it calls Wisconsin’s premier Blue Ribbon trout stream: water that runs cold and, for most of the season, clear even through hot summer months, holding an average of more than six thousand trout to the mile and fishing well for brown trout right inside the River Falls city limits. A guided day starts with a morning rendezvous at the Kinni Outfitters fly shop, with the meeting time moved through the year to put anglers on the water in the most productive hours; the guide checks licences, looks through the client’s fly boxes and suggests what has been working before the party sets off, and trips can also take in the other spring creeks of the northern Driftless Area. Wisconsin’s early catch-and-release trout season opens the first Saturday in January and runs into the first days of May, and the regular season runs from the first Saturday in May to October 15. Rod-and-reel and wader-and-boot rentals are $35 each per day, and every angler needs a Wisconsin licence with an inland trout stamp.
