Trips work the rivers and creeks feeding the top of Mobile Bay, and the captain’s own list of the water he runs opens with the Mobile River, the Blakeley River, the Tensaw River and Fly Creek. The boat is a Blue Wave Pure Bay 2400 rigged with a Yamaha F300 four-stroke, set up for light tackle and fly casting rather than heavy trolling. Speckled trout, redfish, bull redfish, flounder, sheepshead and jack crevalle are the fish named, with seasonal Gulf species added when the weather allows. Trip formats run from a four-hour short inshore day through a four to six hour inshore trip, a six-hour nearshore trip and a nine-hour full day, plus a dedicated trophy trout charter for two anglers. Pick-ups are offered from Dauphin Island, Fairhope, Point Clear, Montrose, Spanish Fort, Theodore, Bayou La Batre and Mobile.
