Battenkill Outfitters guides the Battenkill from West Arlington, on the Vermont bank a few minutes below Manchester. The half-day trip runs four hours and the full day goes from first cast to last light, with sessions taking between one and four anglers. Waders, rods, flies and tackle are found, instruction is tailored to whatever level the angler arrives at, and the emphasis falls on approachable teaching for beginners while still fishing experienced rods and groups properly. Up to two anglers pay five hundred dollars for a half day and a thousand for a full day, three pay six hundred and seventy-five or one thousand three hundred and fifty, and four pay eight hundred and fifty or one thousand seven hundred. Days also range onto the Walloomsac, the Hoosic and the surrounding waters of Vermont and New York.
