Garzilla Guide Service
Palestine, Texas · Fishes Trinity River
Garzilla Guide Service was established in 2007 and specializes in alligator gar on the Trinity River. The operation runs seven boats and seven guides, listed on the site as Bubba Bedre, Evan, Randy, Cody, Dalton, Lance and Justin. It divides the Trinity into three working sections: an upper corridor roughly 60 to 90 minutes south of downtown Dallas, a middle section around Palestine in Anderson County where the company says 41 IGFA world records were set, and a lower corridor between Huntsville and Livingston about 60 to 90 minutes from Houston. Palestine is the home base. The site describes launching across the Trinity and Brazos corridors from Dallas, Houston, Huntsville, Livingston and Palestine. The gar season is given as April through September. Half day and full day trips are offered. Founder Bubba Bedre states on the about page that he developed techniques for the fishery that did not exist beforehand. Trip pricing is kept on a separate booking page rather than the about page.
