Spinner Fall Guide Service
Dutch John, Utah · Fishes Green River
Spinner Fall Guide Service floats the Green River below Flaming Gorge Dam out of Dutch John, Utah, across three sections covering roughly thirty miles. The A Section runs seven miles from below the dam to Little Hole under red sandstone cliffs, slower up top and breaking into rapids and pocket water lower down, with stretches counted at 12,000 trout per mile. The B Section, Devil’s Hole, adds nine remote miles including Red Creek Rapid and passes the campsite used by John Wesley Powell. The C Section carries fifteen miles through Brown’s Park and a wildlife refuge from the John Jarvie Ranch historic site to the Colorado line. Drift boats take one or two anglers with an experienced oarsman. Full days are $700, rising to $750 in June and July; half days are $550 and sunset floats $500. Each trip covers seven miles or more of river and includes flies, non-alcoholic beverages, and a freshly prepared lunch on full days. Blue-winged olives, cicadas, terrestrials and streamers carry the season.
