Upper Andro Guide Service is run by Registered Guide Mark Tyrrell, who works the Androscoggin almost daily from the headwaters at Errol, New Hampshire down through the Maine sections toward Canton. The Errol water runs through the Thirteen Mile Woods corridor, a sequence of ripples and rapids broken by stretches of slower current and fed by cold tributaries, and the site points to the prolific insect hatches that come with it. Days are run from a drift boat for trout and landlocked salmon, with smallmouth bass available on other sections, and wade trips on smaller rivers are offered when conditions suit. The business is licensed and insured in both New Hampshire and Maine and keeps a second base in Bethel, Maine. Anglers of all abilities are taken out, and the emphasis is on a safe day covering water that is awkward to reach on foot. Errol itself is described as the gateway to the northern New Hampshire backcountry.
