Bob Stonewater’s Trophy Bass Guide Service
DeLand, Florida
The business dates to 1976 and carries the name of its founder, who guided it for close to fifty years before retiring. It is now run by his nephew, Captain Jim Pratt, who has four years in the service and learned bass fishing on this river from his grandfather and from Stonewater himself. Pratt handles most bookings personally and brings in additional guides when a party needs more than one boat. Beyond the fishing the operation sells nature photography outings and publishes instructional video on technique, so a booking is not necessarily a rod in hand. The service points to a long media record as evidence of its results, citing appearances on ESPN and In-Fisherman television and coverage in Florida Sportsman, Outdoor Life and Bass’n magazine, including praise from an In-Fisherman senior editor.
