Croixsippi Fishing Guide Service

Croixsippi is a licensed single boat guide service rather than a shop or a resort. Gierke is based at Lakeland on the Minnesota bank of the lower St. Croix, holds a current Coast Guard OUPV captain’s license, and carries a Wisconsin guide license and commercial insurance. The calendar does not close in winter. Open water gives way to ice trips for sunfish, crappie and walleye, so the business takes bookings across all four seasons. Pool 4 of the Mississippi is the second half of the territory when conditions favor it. A tournament record is published on the site, including five first place finishes apiece in the Beanie River Rat and the Koval Walleye Classic and a win at the World Walleye Association championship. Family and multigenerational parties make up a large share of the bookings, and catch is cleaned at the end of the day.
