Farmington River Trading Company

The company is a storefront as much as a guide service. Seth Boynick owns and runs it from 938 Mountain Road in Bloomfield, where the counter carries fly tackle from Sage, Redington, Rio, Korkers, NRS and Orvis, and the same shop also sells rifles, shotguns and handguns. The retail side is open seven days a week. Guiding is only one part of the outdoor business, which also books ATV tours over in the Berkshires, so a reservation may have nothing to do with water at all. On the fishing side the coverage reaches well past the home valley, taking in other Connecticut rivers, water across the Massachusetts line and tidal fishing down at the shoreline, which is why the counter stocks both trout and coastal tackle.
