Kilbourn Guide Service takes its name from Kilbourn, the older name for Wisconsin Dells, where it is based, and it is run by a guide who books and answers enquiries himself under the name Rich. It is a river-and-flowage operation rather than a lakes charter: alongside the Wisconsin River it guides Castle Rock Lake and Petenwell Lake, the two large flowages on the same river system, which lets it move a booking to sheltered water when the river is unfishable. Guiding is the whole business; there is no shop or lodging attached.
