Montana Trout Outfitters

Missoula, Montana

Montana Trout Outfitters is a Missoula-based fly fishing guide service owned and operated by Tony Reinhardt, a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain. The business guides five waterways inside an hour’s drive of town: the Bitterroot, Blackfoot, and Clark Fork rivers, plus Rock Creek and the Missouri River, describing the local network as more than 350 miles of fishable water. Rather than running a retail fly shop, the outfitter focuses on guided trips and connects clients with area lodging through partner fly fishing lodges. It publishes a fishing report newsletter covering river conditions and hatch timing across its home waters. Guiding style ranges from drift boats and rafts for trout to jet boats on the lower Clark Fork for warmwater species such as pike and smallmouth bass.
