Parks’ Fly Shop is a full service fly shop and outfitter at 202 2nd St S in Gardiner, Montana, on the edge of Yellowstone National Park. Merton Parks founded it in 1953 after learning to tie during the Second World War and selling flies afterward; leadership passed to his widow Ellen and their son Richard in 1970, and the guide service grew roughly threefold across the 1980s through the 2000s. That makes over 70 years in the same trade. The store carries a full inventory of fly fishing and fly tying supplies. Guiding reaches across Yellowstone National Park and southwest Montana rather than a single river, including private ranch lakes and spring creeks. In the off season the shop rents skis and snowshoes and keeps guiding through the winter.
