Red Cedar Fly Fishing
Menomonie, Wisconsin
Red Cedar Fly Fishing LLC runs a fly shop at 300 Crescent Street in Menomonie as well as the guiding, and it makes a point of the drive: an hour from Minneapolis-St Paul, which is who much of the business is for. Three rivers make up the range – the Red Cedar the shop is named after, the Chippewa it feeds, and the Hay. Beyond the trips the shop teaches, running fly fishing classes and a casting clinic, and it hosts the Fly Fishing Film Tour, so it functions as the local hub rather than purely as an outfitter. The species mix is warmwater rather than the trout the western Wisconsin driftless is better known for: smallmouth and largemouth bass, musky, pike, walleye and carp, with trout available but not the headline.
