Schroeder’s Guiding Service operates from 1422 Courtland West in Waconia, Minnesota, and Gregg Schroeder has been guiding for forty years across two lakes, his home water at Waconia and the bigger lake to the east. Customers come from Minnetonka, Excelsior, Waconia, Mound, Edina, Orono and Wayzata as well as from Minneapolis itself. The business carries well over a hundred Google reviews at a five star average and leans on that in its marketing. Besides the individual and family trips it sells corporate events of any size, run as a tournament with a custom weigh-in board carrying the company name and each angler’s name and every catch measured and recorded, and it rents ice houses in winter. Gift certificates are sold for birthdays and holidays, and the guide has been fished with and written up by a Pioneer Press reporter.
