Pheasant Tail Tours
Monroe Bridge, Massachusetts · Fishes Deerfield River
Pheasant Tail Tours is a single guide operation run by Brian Lynch out of Monroe Bridge in the northwest corner of Massachusetts, directly on the Deerfield River. Lynch describes himself as a lifelong Deerfield angler and floats a fourteen foot Aire raft on an Outcast fishing frame, a rig sized for the river’s rapids and deep pools as it drops out of the Vermont mountains toward the Connecticut. Half days run about four hours at $350 for one angler and $400 for two. Full days run about eight hours at $450 and $500 and include breakfast and a hot lunch. Night and mouse trips are offered as four hour outings, and a seasonal cast and blast day pairs hunting with fishing. Brown, rainbow and brook trout are the targets, with most fish between ten and sixteen inches and sixteen to twenty four inch fish described as not uncommon. Rods, reels, custom flies, life jackets, snacks and drinks come with the trip.
