Indiana Flyfishing Guides

Indiana Flyfishing Guides is the guiding operation of Jeff Conrad and Matt Nuttall, who run float and wade trips on central Indiana warmwater rivers. Their Tippecanoe work concentrates on the eighteen miles below Oakdale Dam near Monticello down to the Wabash confluence, broken into two floats of roughly nine miles each, dam to the SR-18 bridge and SR-18 to the confluence. They describe that stretch as a stew of biodiversity, with deep water, steep banks and large boulders, and flows that shift day to day with dam releases. Smallmouth, largemouth and spotted bass, rock bass, walleye, sauger, white bass, catfish and carp all show up. Presentations go deeper in cool water and move to shallow streamers and poppers as it warms. Full days on the lower Tippecanoe are $450 for one angler and $500 for two, with the upper river $50 more, and floats run eight to nine hours. Streamside lunch, loaner rods and basic supplies are included, and the guides arrange a vehicle shuttle when they can.
