Highland Park Fish Camp
DeLand, Florida · Fishes St. Johns River
Highland Park Fish Camp is a working fish camp in DeLand that books guided fishing on the St. Johns River. Guiding is one part of a larger operation, so trips leave from the camp’s own property rather than from a public ramp somewhere else. Guides run tournament-style bass boats set up for one or two anglers, and pontoon boats come out when a party is too large for a bass boat. Full days are seven hours at 475 dollars and half days are four hours at 350 dollars, with 125 dollars added for a third angler. Live wild shiners are sold separately at 27 dollars a dozen and are the standard offering for largemouth bass. The camp does not treat bass as the only draw: speckled perch, bluegill and shellcracker are listed alongside largemouth, which puts the winter and early spring panfish run on equal footing with the bass calendar. Guides work the main river channel and the connected lake water beside the camp rather than one fixed stretch.
