Float trips fish the Chena River, which the outfitter describes as a blue ribbon, catch and release Arctic grayling fishery that also carries a run of king salmon through July and chum salmon in July and August. Rafts put in at the Compeau trailhead parking lot at Mile 29 on Chena Hot Springs Road, and the water runs class 1 to 2 through the hills above Fairbanks. The half day fishing float gives three hours of fishing at $219 per person; the full day gives six to seven hours at $349 per person. Both carry a two angler minimum and are limited to four anglers per boat, and both spin and fly gear are supplied.
