Lance Fisher Fishing
Portland, Oregon · Fishes Cowlitz River, Willamette River
Lance Fisher fishes two very different pieces of water from powerboats. On the Willamette he works the stretch from downtown Portland up to Oregon City Falls, plus a ten-mile section between Milwaukie and Portland where sturgeon hold; spring Chinook show from late January and guiding starts in March or early April, while the sturgeon season runs January through May. On the Cowlitz, which his site describes as offering two runs of salmon and two of steelhead each year, the fishing is close to year-round. Two boats cover the work, a 34-foot vessel named Legion’s Mercy and a 25-foot Willie Raptor, and dates are booked by phone or through the site’s form rather than from a published rate card.
