The St. Lucie River winds through Martin County and empties into the St. Lucie Inlet, and Captain Keith targets snook, redfish and sea trout on the river along with the Indian River Lagoon and the flats near the inlet. The advantage sold here is optionality on the day: the river and those protected flats are some of the calmest, most sheltered water on this coast when it blows, and because the inlet is minutes from the dock a morning worked in the river can turn into an afternoon on nearshore Atlantic structure without a long run. Tarpon move through the St. Lucie River and the lagoon system in numbers that draw serious anglers, pushing up the river corridor in spring. The boat is a 20-foot Key West Bay Reef rigged with a GPS trolling motor, a Garmin touchscreen, a jack plate and a shallow-water anchor. Half days are $550 for up to three guests, full days are also offered, and a $150 deposit reserves the date with the balance due at the dock. Gear, bait, Florida saltwater licences for every guest and fish cleaning at the dock are included.
