Bowman Fly Fishing
Dahlonega, Georgia · Fishes Toccoa River
Drift boat floats work the fourteen miles of year-round trout water flowing out of Blue Ridge Dam. The page separates two very different fisheries on the same river: the upper Toccoa above Blue Ridge Lake, wild trout water inside the national forest, and the lower tailwater below the dam, cold the year round and the reach that holds the trophy browns. A half day float is four hours at four hundred and twenty-five dollars and a full day is eight hours at five hundred and seventy-five. Rainbow trout, brown trout to twenty-six inches and brook trout are the fish. All fishing gear, waders, boots and flies are supplied along with instruction, and full day trips include lunch. The river fishes all twelve months, with March to May and October to November the peak windows for consistent hatches and active fish.
