Vice Outdoors guides the Owyhee about ninety minutes from Boise for wild brown trout that run past twenty inches, with the occasional rainbow among them. Access is walk-and-wade, and boots and waders are required and can be rented for thirty dollars a head. Trips run from March through September and are sold as an all-inclusive eight-hour day at 595 dollars for one or two anglers, covering bottled water and non-alcoholic drinks, a hearty lunch, rods and reels, flies and tackle. Spring fishes skwalas, blue-winged olives and early caddis, summer moves to pale morning duns, yellow sallies, ants, beetles and grasshoppers, and fall brings mahogany duns, crane flies and more blue-winged olives.
