Castaway Fly Fishing Shop
Coeur d'Alene, Idaho · Fishes Coeur d'Alene River
Castaway Fly Fishing runs guided days on the Coeur d’Alene River, which its guided-services page calls the only place in the world to catch a Westslope black-tail cutthroat and describes as carrying some of the finest scenery in North Idaho. The put-in is about a forty-minute drive from town and the shop calls this its most popular trip. Full days and half days are both sold, with room for one to two people, and a full day mixes time in the boat with fishing from the bank. Every trip carries a private guide, flies, rods, waders and the rest of the tackle, life jackets, beverages, a raft or boat and a riverside lunch on the full day; anglers buy their own Idaho license, which the shop sells. The season runs mid-March to mid-November, weather permitting. No rate for this river is published on the shop’s own site.
