This is a boat operation and the Chehalis is one of four rivers it works, alongside the Cowlitz, the Lewis and the Columbia, with the tributaries of those rivers counted inside its range. The company describes the Chehalis as expansive and slow flowing and sets it against the heavier currents of the Columbia, which is the kind of water its custom-built jet sled is made for rather than the technical upper reaches a drift boat would suit. The seasonal pattern the company publishes is not broken out river by river: spring Chinook early in the year in Columbia tidal water, summer steelhead through the warm months, fall Chinook and coho in early autumn, and sturgeon from spring into summer. The sled is heated. Bait, tackle and professional-grade rods are supplied and the catch is filleted and bagged at the end of the day; anglers bring a licence and catch card, rain gear, waterproof footwear, food and a cooler with ice, and waders are optional because nobody leaves the boat.
