Red Cedar Fly Fishing
Menomonie, Wisconsin · Fishes Chippewa River
The Chippewa is reached on the overnight trip rather than as a day float: two full days that start on the Red Cedar and then transition onto the Chippewa, where new stretches open up, with riverside camping in wall tents and a shore-lunch dinner in between. A single full day is eight hours for a maximum of two anglers at $600, lunch and gear included. Days start at seven in the morning at the shop, launch at eight and aim to take out around half past four, which makes eight to nine hours door to door. Everything is drift boat work. Rods, reels, flies, nets, pliers, backup rain gear and safety equipment are all provided, along with sandwiches, chips, something sweet and water, and the flies are chosen on the day to suit conditions.
