Woodstock Inn & Resort
Woodstock, Vermont · Fishes Ottauquechee River
Guided days on the Ottauquechee are wade trips, and the resort prices them by length rather than by water: a four-hour half day and a seven-hour full day, with a five-hour casting-and-instruction excursion sold alongside them and a small-stream option for experienced anglers who want the brooks instead. The river is one of the waters the fly-fishing programme lists as its own, together with the White and the Black, Kedron Brook and Barnard Brook. Instruction is included in every excursion, full days carry a boxed lunch, and transport to a wade beat is available on request. The season runs from mid-April to the end of October as conditions allow, a Vermont licence is required and is not included, and Orvis rods, reels and waders can be rented for the day. Float trips are sold too, but on the White River or the Connecticut rather than here. The page names wild trout and, on the family pond outing, sunfish, without naming a trout species.
