Frontier Anglers
Dillon, Montana · Fishes Beaverhead River, Big Hole River
Frontier Anglers rows the Big Hole and the Beaverhead out of Dillon in southwest Montana, with the upper Jefferson drainage and the Madison also on its schedule. Day trips go in drift boats and are priced at $750 for the boat, whether one or two anglers ride. Early spring gets particular attention from the shop, which points to big brown trout coming out of winter with an appetite and to a stretch of weeks when streamers and dry flies both produce. The daily rate covers a licensed professional guide, a streamside lunch, and non-alcoholic beverages; booking fees and gratuity fall outside it. Shaun Jeszenka holds Montana outfitter license 4442 and runs the guide side of the business, and the guide roster is published on the company site for anglers who want to know who will be on the oars.
Frontier Anglers also guides the Beaverhead River, the small tailwater below Clark Canyon Dam that the shop describes as narrow and willow lined, holding large fish in tight water. Guided days run in drift boats, and the shop chooses between the Beaverhead and the Big Hole on the day according to conditions. Brown trout are the primary target, with spring trips built around streamer fishing, and the boat rate is quoted at 750 dollars for one or two anglers.
