This is a one guide operation based in Grayling, Michigan, the town at the center of Au Sable fly fishing, run by Captain Tom Quail. Quail is a licensed United States Coast Guard captain trained in American Red Cross infant, child and adult first aid, holds the commercial permits needed to work the water, and has more than twenty five years of guiding behind him. He is a past chairman of Michigan Trout Unlimited and taught fly fishing for Orvis for over six years. The service is deliberately narrow in focus: it specializes in new fly fishers, youth anglers, women anglers and anyone wanting to sharpen an existing game, and instruction is sold as its own product rather than only bundled into a guided day. There is no retail shop or lodging attached. Its working range is the Au Sable and Manistee river watersheds.
