Blackhawk Fly Fishing
Clarkesville, Georgia · Fishes Soque River
Blackhawk fishes roughly two miles of private, spring-creek-fed Soque River frontage running through Batesville, north of Clarkesville in the Georgia Blue Ridge. It is wade-only water with no boats, mixing strong runs of rapids, deep pools and slow flowing lanes, so a day moves between roll casts in tight pocket water and full backcasts on the open runs. Hip waders carry most of the year and chest waders are advised until it is warm enough to wet-wade. Trips are full day and catch-and-release, one guide working two anglers, fishing streamers, nymphs and dry flies chosen off water colour and hatch conditions. The property can outfit as many as twelve anglers at once.
