Clearwater River Outfitters
Lewiston, Idaho · Fishes Clearwater River
Clearwater River Outfitters guides a roughly 40-mile stretch of the Clearwater River between Lewiston and Orofino, Idaho, running steelhead trips from September through March and spring Chinook salmon trips in May and June. Trips run a minimum of 8 hours and up to 10 hours on the water, with a minimum of two anglers per boat reservation. Guides fish from open aluminum guide boats ranging 17 to 26 feet, sized for two, four or six anglers, and wheelchair-accessible boats are available. B-run steelhead on this stretch average 10 to 20 pounds and sometimes exceed 20; guides fish them with light-action spinning rods and light line and supply all gear and tackle, then fillet and bag the catch at no extra charge. The same guides run smallmouth bass trips on nearby Dworshak Reservoir from mid-March through May.
