Donavan Clary has guided since 1992 and works the Illinois River out of Tahlequah. The site advertises smallmouth and striper float trips on the Illinois at 550 dollars for two anglers, with lunch, drinks, snacks and all gear covered in that price. Wade trips are 350 dollars for one angler and add 100 dollars for each additional person. A separate boat trip of four to five hours is listed at 350 dollars for one angler, run from a conventional boat rigged with Livescope. Smallmouth bass, largemouth bass and striped bass are the species named for the river, and the site claims around 20 species caught across the full range of waters worked. Clary reports roughly 275 days on the water a year. Beyond the Illinois, the operation also fishes the Lower Mountain Fork River in Oklahoma and travels to Lake Taneycomo and Table Rock Lake in Missouri. Lodging is offered separately at 200 dollars a night for two people.
