Hammett Valley Fishing Adventures
Mountain Home, Idaho · Fishes C.J. Strike Reservoir
C.J. Strike Reservoir on the Snake River is fished here for bass, panfish and sturgeon, and the operator sells it as guided fishing near Boise, Idaho. Smallmouth is the headline: the outfit claims some of the finest smallmouth bass fishing in North America, says days of a hundred fish are not uncommon and rates the trophy quality as good as it gets, with bonus crappie, bluegill and yellow perch coming to the same tackle. A full day after bass, crappie and perch is priced at eight hundred and twenty-five dollars for up to three anglers, and two hundred and seventy-five dollars for each angler beyond that. Trophy white sturgeon are the other half of the programme, worked on the Snake River itself on heavy gear, and a bow-fishing option is offered for invasive species. Both conventional and fly setups are carried, and the guides build the day around whichever the party prefers, from a client’s first prehistoric fish to a group that simply wants the proven bass water covered properly. Anglers are pointed at a published list of places to stay if they are travelling in for the trip.
