Summer steelhead trips work the lower 23 miles of the Deschutes, where jet boats open up fly water and move anglers through class three rapids. The season runs from early August into mid-October, and later in the season the operation shifts upriver near Maupin and switches to drift boats. Fishing is done with spey rods on dry line and sink tip, and the outfitter notes that every year it helps people land a first steelhead on a spey rod. Single-day jet boat trips are $800 for one or two anglers and single-day drift boat trips are $750, with additional anglers at $200 each. Multi-day camps use a pre-established base camp set on productive water, with accommodation and meals prepared by a full-time camp host: three days and two nights at $2,150 per angler, four days and three nights at $2,720, and five days and four nights at $3,150. Camps take up to four anglers. Deschutes trout trips are also on the schedule.
