KAW River Adventures
Silver Lake, Kansas · Fishes Kansas River
The water fished is the Kansas River on the reach above Topeka, with floats putting in roughly four and a half miles upstream of Kaw River State Park and running three to four hours depending on how many sandbars get explored along the way. Catfishing is the warm season draw, worked with limb lines, trotlines or rod and reel, and the fish taken are flathead and channel catfish. Canoes and kayaks carry the floats. Fully guided and semi-guided versions are both offered, and the water is worked from the first of May through the end of September.
