Maple Country Anglers

Maple Country Anglers guides out of Essex, Vermont and floats the Winooski, Lamoille and White rivers from a thirteen foot Aire Super Puma raft fitted with a customized fishing frame. The boat carries one or two anglers plus the guide, and a second boat with a second guide can be added for larger parties. Half days are $400 for one angler and $500 for two, while full days run $500 and $600, with gratuities excluded. Anglers fish from the boat and the guide also pulls over at good pools and riffles so part of the day can be spent wading. The targets are rainbow, brown and brook trout, with smallmouth bass on the lower stretches through the warmest weeks of summer. The strongest trout months are given as May, June, September and October, when water temperatures hold below seventy degrees. Separate walk and wade trips are also offered for anglers who would rather stay on foot.
